Lazy Dayz

The pace should slow now. We just finished our summer convention, which is the highlight that requires preparation before, focus during and meditation afterward. By the time I hit the meditation phase, I am ready. Ready for the slow and lazy days of summer to take over. There are no major plans from here through August.

To some degree I'm dreaming. But I refuse to let myself or my children to be stuck in "frantic" mode all the time. There has to be time to refresh and renew. Read, daydream, write, sleep in, stay up, swim, have snow cones, find shade trees, discover something or some place that's new.

Ds has been watching Wimbledon and has decided he wants to try tennis. My first reaction is to say, "Well, they make it look easy but it's not," and then "do you realize how HOT it will be on a tennis court this time of year?" but I don't want to discourage him. So I will be shopping for affordable tennis rackets and I will be grateful that the tennis courts are right beside the pool and we have pool passes. :) He is doing so well, trying to stay active. His weight is not a huge concern, and I have worked to keep it from becoming one, and sure enough, as he's been adding the inches he's been slimming down at the same time. Still it is encouraging to see that he is taking the initiative to stay active and watch his diet. It goes with the territory of his age. He is taking his big brother's ribbing much more easily these days, and on ocassion fires off a good shot of his own that makes ds #1 take a step back and grin. He's not going to bloom as quickly or as spectacularly as his brother, but he will bloom and people will notice his unique kind of beauty that comes with a tender heart and an inherent desire to be of help.

We averted a tragedy with the car. It developed quite a shimmy over the past few days at highway speed. The vibration was intermitent so we knew it wasn't a tire. Turned out to be the driveshaft. Dh who is a systems analyst deluxe had the driveshaft off the car and the problem pinpointed in an hour this morning. Thankfully before the whole thing wore through in one spot and fell off while we were on the road. A friend of ours is looking for a replacement for us. He seems to think I'll have my wheels back in a day or two. I'm hoping he's right.

This is boring me to sleep. Hope you needed a nap! :)

Ah, the circle of life... Housework has me swamped, my faith keeps me from drowning, and my boys--including the taller, older one--keep me laughing. Somewhere in there I have to write, read, teach and learn. Which then leaves me swamped with housework....
