My apologies

Writing seems to be taking a hiatus this summer. Or perhaps I should say recreational writing is taking a hiatus. I have been quite busy preparing for a Novel Revision Retreat coming up in September. There is a lot of work involved, which is encouraging. I am a believer in the idea that the more you put in the more you get out. The group is small and you have to be dedicated to put in this kind of time and effort. I am so hoping that when all is said and done, Cousins is ready to journey out into the world.

And I've been plugging along in a course in writing for children's magazines. Wish my next assignment would have gotten here before vacation, but oh well. There are only so many things I can control. :)

I am leaving on vacation early on Wednesday morning, but my writing companion here is going in to the shop tomorrow. I've lost a fan and it likes to shut down in the middle of things. It is going to be tough leaving for 10 days and not taking my buddy with me, but I do have paper, pens, pencils and a camera. Besides, I'm so ready to just soak in life for a bit. Just let it happen and fill the well.

Hope you are enjoying the summer sizzle. Looks like the entire US is in on the action this summer. Still it was hotter here in OK back in 1939, according to the records. Whew. 21 days straight of temps above 100. I think I would have had to go north--here I come Alaska!
