Hunkerin' Down
Everyone spent the day stocking up and settling in. Food, water, movies. I'm thinking maybe ear plugs and sleeping pills might have been good choices too. Oh well.
First reports said things would get bad around 6 Friday evening. Then it was pushed to noon. Now the latest "Newsbreak" I received in my e-mail said temps could be freezing by morning. I wish my guys didn't have to go anywhere.
Or had somewhere to go and be stuck happily and safely together. :)
It could be a very rocky weekend. From a number of fronts. And the temps aren't supposed to get out of the freezing range for the next seven days.
One day at a time. That phrase could take on a whole new meaning. I don't think we've ever been out of power for very long, even when we had the ice storm in '02. The longest was when we lived on the SE side of OKC and we had straight-line winds of 100+ mph. I think we were down for several days that time.
Man will never be a match for the weather. Even when you know it's coming, all you can do is sit back and watch it hit.
