I Wish I Was a Duck

For someone who loves the water as much as I do, I find myself in a quandry in these days of endless rain. The sound of it is still soothing. I sleep well under the rhythm of drops. However, cracks of thunder and lightning you can see with your eyes closed has a tendency to interrupt that rain-induced slumber. Go ahead and put wind gusts reaching 70 mph in the mix. Bye-bye sleep.

So I need the sunshine to keep me awake through the day, but what does the sunshine do?

More storms.

Rain will be around all morning long again today. The ground--not long ago drought-parched--is saturated and so the big news now is flooding. I just saw the weather. I really should be on the road now. It goes downhill from here. There's a band of red with lots and lots of little lightning x's just west of here.

You didn't really want to hear me complain anyway, did you? :)

Ah, the circle of life... Housework has me swamped, my faith keeps me from drowning, and my boys--including the taller, older one--keep me laughing. Somewhere in there I have to write, read, teach and learn. Which then leaves me swamped with housework....
