#452

Maybe I'm just out of blogging material. What could I possibly have to say that hasn't been said in 451 blog posts?

I have another stinking cold and no voice. Not even at my fingertips.

I pretty much guaranteed I won't have company this weekend. My kitchen and living room are company ready. Someone will show up and want to see the rest of the house I'm sure.

I got a new binder today for my writing. Bright red, with a spot in it for my inherited iPod (my son got a larger one and let me have his--isn't that sweet. ) I've found that by keeping all the current bills, and ongoing financial records in a zippered green 3-ring binder, I seldom look for bills or receipts or up-to-date bank statements.

I'm hoping that by keeping current projects--one creatively underway (or ideas for something new), one editorially underway and at least one completed/submitted--in one place, I'll be more apt not to feel lost. Plus when I want to pick up stakes and head for the library for a change of scenery or some peace, I can grab the book and go. The zipper makes it nice to throw spur-of-the-moment things in without losing them, and who knows, if I ever find the "business cards" I had printed a couple years ago, there's a spot for them too. And envelopes and stamps, and even labels.

The thing is, I am perpetually organizing and never getting anything done. Which I guess technically isn't true with the finances: the book helped me get taxes done earlier this year than I ever have. Maybe if I just stick with a system, and pay regular attention to it (a key ingredient to the financial thing there), I might have something to show. I'm thinking if I can't create new material at the moment, maybe it's best to dig into the editing. Not to mention finishing the synopsis on Cousins a.k.a. Viewfinder. And there is a large part of me that is eager to do that with my 2005 NaNo attempt. So maybe I should listen (stop fighting!) and get busy.

Still doesn't make for very interesting blog posts. Maybe I'll start doing two-sentence posts. Something like:

*The warmth seeping through from the sandstone beneath her, along with the soft south breeze that stirred cat's paws on the pond, made her muscles relax. Now if only she could make her mind follow.* (Taken from A.W.A.D for today)

Maybe I should work on the View Finder synopsis here. Another idea.... Hmmmm.....

Well, I'm happier with today's post than I thought I'd be. :)
