Five days

Is my longest streak of showing up every day so far this year. So that's the mark to beat. I completely and totally forgot yesterday. It was even on my list and I still forgot. Probably because I forgot to look at the list. When your memory goes, forget it! :)

I've got so much to do this week it isn't funny. All of it is good stuff, except for getting my car in the shop. But by Thursday I'm going to be ready for a day at home, so I'm jealously guarding it like I would a stash of chocolate. If it can't be done before or after Thursday, then it better be a matter of life or death.

My house is quiet this morning. Two guys are off to work; one is at a friend's. I am ready to go grocery shopping once I hear from my old high school running buddy who will be in town today. We're going to have lunch. I've needed something like this for about two or three weeks. A blast from the past to get me out of my rut.

We've already set weather records for the year, and may do so again today. It got up to 75 yesterday. I stuck my head out the door when I saw ds off this morning and it felt like spring: damp air, strong south wind, and an earthy odor that I am sure is largely generated by mounds of tree limbs that line the street.

The views around here have changed drastically. We were noticing a trailer park from the highway yesterday that we didn't know was there. Well, I can't say that; we knew it was there, but you couldn't see it because of a wall of trees that shrouded it. It's in plain view now. There is only one park in town that's "visitable"; the rest are full of debris. And now, since we've been having tremendous wind gusts (they'll move your car on the road) several of the wood piles are lined with paper, plastic and debris on the south side where they've become a catch-all for whatever is blowing through the air.

I think it's back to the cold tomorrow with a hint of snow on the distant horizon, so I'm going to get out and enjoy today. Hope you have a good one too!

I don't know if we set records today or not, but I think I saw it was 65 here today. When the sun was shining on the bank thermometer as I drove by, it said 104!!!!! Wish I'd had a camera! lol ~S
