Not In It Alone
I've been blog-hopping lately. There's a wealth of information out there and people who are earning a living pulling it together and wrapping it up in a nice concise bow. I recently found several interesting blogs on writing and creativity, and have branched out to include frugal (I prefer "careful") living, simplifying, setting goals. I've populated my RSS reader with a few gems that I can read through in the morning, which is my reward for getting my writing done. So far three days and about six hours, leading up to my Thursday concentration--I'm feeling like I'm making progress.
We're getting another house. Just when we thought the deals were gone, up pops another, within walking distance of our house. Dh says that when he considers the over-all needs of the house before it's liveable, he gets a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach. So he sets that thought aside and concentrates on the next thing that needs doing and bit by bit, he'll get through it. He has a schedule in mind once we close in a couple weeks.
So while he's re-vamping that house, I'm going to revamp mine. If he can do it in pieces, so can I. Ds#2 and I got a good jump on that yesterday. I managed to clean out the game corner in the laundry room and we got his school schedule put back together. His Dad is repairing his dresser. They discovered in the process that the thing was build in 1938; no wonder it's in sad shape at the moment. Once we get that taken care of we'll get him settled in his new room.
New room? Yes......
Which brings me to the biggest news of all: Ds#1 was planning to move out this summer into a place of his own. Well, he didn't wait for summer or a doctor's release either. (You should see him move on those crutches! Which soon may be a thing of the past anyway.) He found a place he fell in love with, didn't want to lose it by not jumping on the opportunity, so he signed a lease on the 13th and finished most of his moving over the weekend while I was gone.
Life never stops changing. Sometimes it changes so fast it takes my breath away.
So nice to have a plan.... :) Something to think about besides an empty room. That won't be empty long really. Ds#2 is moving in and we'll have another "all-purpose" room in the house. An UNCLUTTERED one!!! It will be the role model for all my other rooms. LOL! Silver linings are fun.
