It's Early
The days start so soon now that I'm starting to miss the sunrise. Because of this I generally think it's later in the day than it really is. I just heard a group of kids walk by my window and wondered why they weren't in school. They're walking to school. They don't have many more days to go before it's summer time.
I had a refreshing weekend with my guys and lots of friends from New Mexico, Missouri, Memphis--all over. Made some new friends too. Hopefully I will remember some names. :) Signing them and speaking them seems to help me recall them, but not as much as it used to. I must have a void in the remembering-names section of my mind.
The house is still this morning. I hear the kitchen clock ticking and remember how much I hate it; the ticking sounds exactly like water dripping in the sink. It was wonderful to be away from it just for a few days.
Pushing the negative aside, the birds are warbling--so many different calls I can't count them all. The venetian blind in the kitchen has been lowered below the window opening; I can hear it bump against the window with the rhythm of this morning's breeze.
There are no sirens. I hear no cars for the most part; sometimes there is a distant hum of an engine, but no planes, trains or automobiles are running into the morning quiet at the moment.
A glance out my window shows nothing but shimmering green. The breeze is soft and cool, and I'm sure later in the day I'll wish for the morning again. It's supposed to be getting up into the 90s before the next wave of storms comes in.
It's looking like I'll finally get my schedule back. I'll be able to structure the mornings and have been brainstorming on what I want my morning routine to include. I have several things on this week's list to do already. I'm excited about getting to them and easing in to a regular routine.
