Give Me a Break!
I can tell I'm a grammar nut when I find myself correcting signs. For example, a recent marque at a local church urged "Bring your father to the zoo for Father's Day." Which begged a ton of questions that led to frivolity and jocularity. So I guess the little slips are worth a good laugh every now and then.
But these are signs that get put up on the spur of the moment, perhaps, in the case of businesses, by less-than-enthusiastic employees who couldn't care less about proofreading and proper grammar.
However, it just killed me the other day to see an edited magazine with a glaring error not on page one, not on the last page, not on the back but on the cover!
Unless I'm lost and totally missing something, there is no reason for the apostrophe in "Ideas." Right?
The magazine redeemed itself only because I found a style in it that I loved and I wanted the picture. Otherwise I would have left it on the shelf and gone on feeling embarrassed for whomever okayed the cover for print.
My son thinks I'm crazy. To him it doesn't really matter. That sentiment is probably the reason we have this delightful cover of Short Hairstyling Ideas.

lol I do that all the time, too! Apostrophes, the I/me correctness in speech, notes posted at work that say things like "need hung" I always add "to be" in between the words... *sigh*
Isn't it hard being so perfect all the time? I know it's hard for me... LOL
Enjoyed this post. Didja get the haircut?
