Making a Comeback

My life was bizarre this summer. It seemed there was one crisis after another, and they were all personal. The kind that are quiet to the bystanders but feel like an earthquake and make it impossible to concentrate on anything but the absolute essentials, which does or sometimes does not include eating and sleeping.

But like all difficulties, this too shall pass, and it has. There have been many good and solid things to counterbalance, and these are starting to get an upper hand. I slept for 14 hours last night, and feel more like a human being today than I have in weeks.

So now, I'd like to get back to other normal things. Like writing. My goal for August is 1000 words a day. But not here. I'm starting a new blog for that. Haven't decided yet if I should share the URL or not. Votes?

Of course I missed yesterday. *sigh* I have a good reason but no excuse. My great-nieces are here and my body chose now to be at war with me--including but not limited to a migraine. But they are still making me smile. It's nice having little people in my house again. I miss those discovery years. And they are such good girls--very well behaved. I can take them anywhere. Says a lot for their parents in this day and age. And they don't like to watch TV! They'd rather color or read books, or build a sheet fort in the bedroom and play together. I'm thoroughly impressed. They'd like most to be outside but the temperatures have been brutal. We went to the water park yesterday and have pool plans for today. It's about the only thing worth doing in the heat.

How many words do I have finished for today? :)
