Three mystery novels by

Lillian Jackson Braun

Newspaper reporter Jim Qwilleran starts a new job at The Daily Flux just to be put on the art beat. After meeting Mr. Mountclemens, the noted art critic for the Flux, he moves into a downstairs apartment with the critic as his landlord. This is soon followed by the death of the critic and Qwilleran’s investigation starts in earnest. With the help of Koko, the art critic’s cat, he solves the mystery.

In the next book The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern, Qwilleran is assigned to a new magazine for the paper, Gracious Abodes. Soon he is embroiled in another murder mystery and a theft blamed on the paper for publishing the information on the stolen items. Qwilleran becomes involved in solving the mystery so Koko, his cat, is needs a new playmate. So a kitten called Yum Yum joins them by the end of the book.

In the third book, The Cat Who Turned On and Off, Qwilleran decides to write about the lives of the people in Junk Town only to learn Junk Town is an antique center for the city. He, Koko and Yum Yum take a room in the Cobb mansion which has a room for let and an antique shop. Before long, Quilleran is investigating a murder from a year before and with the inquisitive help of his pets he solves another mystery.

I enjoyed reading the writings of Ms. Braun. Very enjoyable.
